The Parrot Inn is a beautiful 17th Century English Oak beamed Free-House Country Pub in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are nestled in Forest Green at the bottom of Leith Hill and overlooking the beautiful Village green in an Idyllic location.
Wedding Ceremonies at The Parrot
We are licensed to have 45 seated guests for the ceremony itself in the wonderfully bright conservatory. This leaves a lovely garden walk down the Aisle for the Bride.
The Gosterwood Room
Inside the pub our function room ’The Gosterwood Room’ is a wonderful bright room which has been refurbished in September 2017. It has a delightful open conservatory leading onto a Patio and stunning floodlit and private landscaped Gardens. It is totally self-contained with private toilets, fully stocked bar, cloakroom and dancefloor. The Gosterwood Room can comfortably sit 120 people and upto 150 people without being a squeeze. It can also cater for smaller weddings without a feeling of being ‘lost’ in a large room. It also has its own entrance and although the sense of the pub is not lost, it is a separate entity.
The Billiard Room
For a more intimate Wedding of upto 35 people we also offer the Billiard Room inside the pub. This is an open room that has a more traditional rustic look and includes a small private outside hard standing area. Again here, the room is completely yours again with its own toilets and entrance.
All of our menus are catered individually to meet your specific requests and to make it a more personal affair. Here you will see we have no set Menus A, B or C and so each wedding is as unique as you are. To discuss menus, we will give you some ideas (if you are unsure) and then discuss your requirements with our Head Chef Jozef Miko.
We cater from informal buffets or ‘hot’ picnics to A Hog Roast or full a la carte with canapes and everything in between, We are completely flexible to your wants and needs, However, we are happy to give a sample menu if you request. Our meat is sourced locally from Etherley Farm at Leith Hill for Poultry, Duck and Meat from the Butchers Hall which is situated in the Farm Shop in our Car Park. We use seasonal local produce whenever it is possible. All food is cooked and prepared freshly on site and we are thrilled to say the only thing that comes our freezer is the ice cream.
We are proud of our 5 star Health and Hygiene certificate and are in The Michelin Good Pub guide.
The Parrot Inn is privately owned and run by the Edgar Family and we are very proud of it. The Employees are long standing and a real ‘family’ of its own. It is always personal affair to be involved in creating a wedding and utmost professionalism is assured. You will be kept informed from your first visit to the actual day and may have as many or as few meetings as you prefer.
